March 12, 2020 - Communication Announcement – update on health and Safety at 7:30 a.m.
Sherman County School Parents, Guardians, Students and Staff, As always, the health and safety of everyone in our school community is our top priority. To all of you, please know that Sherman County School is closely monitoring emerging information and staying in contact with state health professionals and educational leaders regarding COVID-19. These leaders continue to recommend that schools stay open and that all people continue to take everyday precautions to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses. At this time, we have no plans to cancel the regular school day. We will be following new rules that will be put into place by the Governor to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Oregon. What does this mean to Sherman County School today as of 7:30 a.m.? We will be waiting until 9:00 a.m. today to listen to further information from the Governor and will be communicating back to you, as information evolves, with updates before 3:00 p.m. today. Our staff has been proactive and is in the process of planning remote and online learning opportunities for students in case we get updated guidance on a school cancellation from health authorities in the upcoming days before spring break. At this time we are respectfully asking all parents who do not have access to the internet to contact the school at 541-565-3500. Thank you for your understanding and support as we process and work through this unusual situation. March 6, 2020 - Communication to the Community
